My name is Sarah Olexa and I am a hair color specialist of over 17 years. “One Chair Hair” is the Nickname of my business, but it’s also what I stand for. One client at a time. One experience at a time. I operate a single chair business inside Clipso Hair Design in Lexington,Ky.


I opened my salon chair up as a sanctuary for those who wanted a calm, fun, laid back, thorough experience, and leave with the best hair color of their lives. Why?

Because that’s what I want out of an experience too!

Have you ever been to a spa or massage and left thinking to yourself “Yeah, I definitely should have bought the shoes instead."

I sure have.

I never want that to be the case when you leave my chair. Ever. How do I make sure that that never happens? Easy. I make you apart of the equation. You, the human being, with preferences, daily time limits and big dreams for your hair and that person looking back at you in the mirror.

I always strive for my chair to be a place that you are comfortable bringing your questions. A place where you know you will receive consistent service and results without feeling like “just another client”. A place where you can leave knowing more about your hair than you ever have. 

A little bit about me professionally:

  • I have been behind the chair for 17 years

  • I hold a Masters in cosmetology

  • I hold over 12 certifications as a hair color specialist

  • I utilize a science background in formulating your tailored hair color

  • I specialize in custom color, corrective color and overall damage recovery

How I approach appointments:

  • I will always discuss with you what we are going to do (the game plan)

  • I am efficient but thorough when it comes to time

  • I will never shock you at the end of a service with a price tag

  • The most important thing to me will always be the health of your hair.

  • I love professional products, but will never try to force them into your budget and believe that there are plenty of amazing drugstore hair products.

I believe in the saying “there are no stupid questions” because there aren’t. I will walk you through everything I am doing and explain why and walk you through twice more if you need it. Girl, I will hold your hand!

and personally:

  • I am a wife and a mama to 3 beautiful boys.

  • I am a gentle person. Cruelty is not in my DNA.

  • I am an avid reader and writer.

  • Laughing is my medicine.

  • My other creative outlet is making miniatures

  • I LOVE music. 

Last but not least, I love human beings at my very core. People say that I know, but I try to see myself in every person that I come across. This industry and the people I have worked with over the years have changed and humbled me in a way I'm not sure any other career path could have. People have amazing stories and I'd love to hear yours.
